Knit Your Way Through SCOTLAND

Join me on an incredible fiber-filled adventure in Scotland from April 26-May 3, 2025. As we travel through Edinburgh, Inverness, and the Highlands together, this breathtaking country will be the perfect backdrop for the crafting, laughing, and knitting we’ll be doing.

In this small group experience, we’ll visit museums, nature centers, and historical landmarks, while also taking amazing workshops that spark our creativity and bring us a deeper understanding of Scotland. In addition to the workshops we take with Scottish craftspeople, I’ll have themed workshops and knitting projects for us at the end of each day. Knitted plaid, anyone?

Connect through our common threads as we share our passion for travel, art, history, and (of course) knitting - all while experiencing the beauty of Scotland.

Day 1: Saturday, April 26th 2025

Welcome to Scotland! We'll take a walking tour of Edinburgh and then visit Edinburgh Castle. Afterwards, we will get to know one another at our Welcome Dinner.

Day 2: Sunday, April 27th 2025

We'll take a workshop at the world-renowned studio at Dovecot Tapestry Studios, a landmark gallery and museum for contemporary art, design and textiles in Edinburgh. Afterwards, we will visit some of Edinburgh's best yarn shops before our Underground Ghost Tour in the evening.

Day 3: Monday, April 28th 2025

We depart Edinburgh and head to Perthshire. On our way, we will tour Glamis Castle, the legendary setting for Shakespeare's Macbeth as well as the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth. Following the Glamis Castle tour, we will have a private guided tour of the V&A Dundee Museum. The V&A Dundee Museum is a dedicated design museum that advocates for the power of design to shape our daily lives.

Day 4: Tuesday, April 29th 2025

On our journey to Inverness, we will stop at the Scottish Crannog Centre and learn about Iron Age life in Scotland while trying our hands at making some of the essential items that prehistoric communities would have made and used. After our experience at the Crannog Centre, we will stop at Moulin Yarns, a yarn shop carrying Scottish-spun and dyed yarns, for a demonstration and a little yarn snuggling.

Day 5: Wednesday, April 30th 2025

Today, we set sail on a Loch Ness Cruise and learn about the deepest freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands. Afterwards, we'll visit a local whiskey distillery and discuss the sightings of "Nessie" we had over a dram of whiskey. In the afternoon, a visit to the Highland House of Fraser, where we will learn about the kilt-making process.

Day 6: Thursday, May 1st 2025

Inspired by the breathtaking views of the Scottish Highlands, we will stop for a landscape-inspired needle felting class at the Caledonian Wool Company. Afterwards, we will visit the Glencoe Visitors Centre to learn about Glencoe's remarkable history, landscape, and wildlife and hike among the towering mountains and dramatic landscape.

Day 7: Friday, May 2nd 2025

As we journey to Glasgow, we will stop at Inverary Castle, a must-see attraction on the West Coast of Scotland. This unique piece of architecture was not only the first of its size and type to be built in the region, it's also featured in "Downton Abbey." When we reach Glasgow, we will stop for a traditional High Hea and have a panoramic city tour, followed by our Farewell Dinner.

Day 8: Saturday, May 3rd 2025
