Knit a fun hat using stranded colorwork and two or more colors in stunning triangle motifs.
Techniques Required:
Casting on, joining in the round, knit/purl, working stranded colorwork, working slipped stitches, decreasing, using double pointed needles (or other small circumference knitting needles), fastening off, and weaving in ends.
Tutorial videos are provided in the pattern for many of the techniques used.
Sizes: Adult Small/Medium (Adult Large)
Finished Measurements: 19.5 (21)”/49 (53) cm circumference and 9”/20 cm depth. Depth is the same for both sizes.
Yarn: 90 (110) yards each of two colors of Worsted weight (CYCA #4) yarn.
Samples shown in: Yarn Snob Yarns “A Wondrous Worsted” (100% superwash merino wool; 218 yds/100 g skein) in Winter (Color A) and Happiness (Color B).
Blue Sky Fibers “Woolstock Worsted” (100% Fine Highland Wool; 123 yds/50 g skein) in #1326 – Mossy Green, #1319 – Quartz Crystal, #1307 Pressed Grapes, #1312 – Drift Wood.
Needles: US 7 (4.5 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needles and DPN or size needed for gauge. US 6 (4 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needles or one size smaller than size needed for gauge. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Gauge: 18 sts and 22 rounds = 4” in stranded colorwork using larger needle.
Other materials: Stitch marker, row counter (optional), tapestry needle, scissors.
