Overflow Hat
Skill level: Beginner
The Overflow Hat is a simple and quick cap knit in chunky weight yarn with a classic fold-up brim. It can be worn folded up or unfolded as a slouch hat. My favorite way to finish this hat is with a patch that’s sewn on to hold the brim layer together with the body layer. This design uses NO purl stitches – it’s made entirely in knit stitches in the round.
For the hats shown as samples, one used a chunky weight yarn single strand and one used THREE strands of Fingering weight (CYCA #1) held together to achieve a chunky weight gauge.
