Construction Details:
Book Smart is worked in four separate pieces and seamed together. After seaming the shoulders, stitches are picked up around the neckline and worked in the contrast color. Tutorial videos for knitwear finishing and picking up and knitting the neckline are linked in the pattern.

Recommended ease is approximately 3”/7.5 cm. If you are between sizes, go down a size for a more form-fitted look or up a size for a more relaxed look.

Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette Stitch, blocked, using size needle to obtain gauge.
Needles: US 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles or size needed for gauge, US 6 (4 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needle or one size smaller than size needed for gauge. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Yarn: 2 colors of worsted weight (CYCA #4) yarn in the following yardage amounts:
Border Color: 170 (180, 190, 200, 210)(230, 240, 250, 260) yards
Main Color: 875 (1000, 1100, 1250, 1400)(1600, 1750, 1925, 2075) yards

Other Materials: 2 stitch markers (one being a locking stitch marker), stitch holder, tapestry needle, size H (5 mm) crochet hook for picking up center neckline stitch.
